Miles has over 20 years of startup, entrepreneurial and manufacturing expertise in a variety of industries. His successful launches include Accugraphics, Eyebeam, Signature Publishing, and MCW Properties, in addition to developing new technology for CoastMaster. He co-founded a prominent nonprofit group to benefit children in Haiti and has served as a Director for numerous organizations.
Mr. White has considerable experience in finance and with growing and advising entrepreneurial companies. He helped grow and guide the successful software firm Sageworks as CFO and founded and grew the environmental Laboratory Microbial Insights, Inc. Mr. White holds a MBA from Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BA Economics from Colgate University. He is a CFA charter holder and member of the North Carolina CFA society.

Pete has 9 years experience in the biotech field and has held commercialization and development roles at GSK and RTI, translating scientific advantages to business opportunities. He previously led projects in ophthalmology studying retinal disease at UNC. He holds a Master of Microbial Biotechnology and a MBA from NC State.

Naren has extensive research work experience in XanoShearTM nanofabrication process, plasma surface modification, electrospinning, functional nanofiber material fabrication for Chemical/Biological warfare aerosol detoxification, air/liquid filtration applications, polyurethane microcapsule synthesis by interfacial poly-condensation reaction and nanomaterials characterization. He worked as a postdoctoral research scholar for 2 years collaborating between Dr. Orlin Velev’s group, Chemical Engineering Department, North Carolina State University and Xanofi Inc. He played key role as principal scientist on the technology transfer project of liquid shear method from lab scale to commercial XanoShearTM process during Xanofi’s inception. He holds Master degree in Fiber Polymer Science from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India and Ph.D. degree in Fiber Polymer Science from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC.

Kevin has over 18 years of expertise in growing partnerships and sales within entrepreneurial companies. Prior to joining Xanofi he spent the last 11 years as the National Sales Manager with a Japanese trading company importing products from Japan and Korea. His experience in the manufacturing, medical, and apparel industries provide him a highly diversified client base throughout his career. He is adept at using his varied experience to find creative ways to penetrate new and existing markets. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University.
DR. ORLIN VELEV
The principal investigator in charge of developing the Xanofi process. He has established a record of innovative research in the area of functional nanostructures, biosensors and microfluidic devices. He has been the first to synthesize “inverse opals,” one of the most widely studied types of photonic materials today. He also pioneered principles for microscopic biosensors with direct electrical detection, discovered novel types of self-assembling supraparticles, microwires and designed new microfluidic chips. He has contributed more than 160 publications, which have been cited more than 10,700 times, and has presented more than 200 invited presentations at major conferences, universities and companies.
DR. STOYAN SMOUKOV
Stoyan was co-principal investigator in the development of the Xanofi technology. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from Northwestern University. Stoyan has 10 years of polymer research and engineering experience and the past 6 years spent specifically on nanoscience and nanofiber technology.
